Dear Bella:
I can’t imagine anything more miserable than living at a hospital! I dread the thought of being put into my carrier and going to the hospital. Did Boo really enjoy life living in a hospital? Do you live there too? Are you able to take over Boo’s hectic schedule?
“Melvin”, Chicago, Illinois
Dear Melvin:
Actually, like Boo, I’m a happy camper with life at the hospital. I’m a very laid back cat, and nobody bothers me much with needles and things around here. Occasionally, they try to brush my teeth, but I let them know who’s boss there. As do all cats, I have my daily routine, mostly spent in the doctor’s office. My job description includes assisting with pilling demonstrations, assisting with showing owners how to give insulin injections and fluids under the skin, assisting with showing how to apply flea medication, and assisting with showing owners how to brush their cat’s teeth. (I don’t care for that part of my job description).
Occasionally, I’m called upon to donate blood to a patient in need, if our blood types match ok. As you can see, I’m extremely busy. However, I still find time for those much-needed 22-23 hours of napping daily. I am pictured here napping in one of my favorite spots, where I can sleep or look out the window, depending on my mood of the moment. I am overweight and so have been put on a healthy diet. I also have required daily exercise time, which I really like. Humans have to play with me, so I get lots of attention. Hospital life is much better than it’s cracked up to be.
Best regards,
Bella,
