Dear Boo:
I can’t imagine anything more miserable than living at a hospital! I dread the thought of being put into my carrier and going to the hospital. Do you really enjoy life living in a hospital? What really is your “hectic schedule” all about?
“Moe”, Chicago, Illinois
Dear Moe:
Actually, I’m a happy camper with life at the hospital. I’m a very laid back cat, and nobody bothers me much with needles and things around here. Occasionally, they try to brush my teeth, but I let them know who’s boss there. As do all cats, I have my daily routine. I alternate between sleeping on my purr pad at the front desk, in my bucket at the front desk (I just sit there and meow, and I’m immediately lifted up onto the desktop), and on each of the doctor’s desks. I have my own water mug at all favored locations. I also have special treats at each location. My job description includes assisting with pilling demonstrations, assisting with showing owners how to give insulin injections and fluids under the skin, assisting with showing how to apply flea medication, and assisting with showing owners how to brush their cat’s teeth (I don’t care for that part of my job description). Occasionally, I’m called upon to donate blood to a patient in need, if our blood types match ok. As you can see, I’m an extremely busy fellow. However, I still find time for those much-needed 22-23 hours of napping daily. I’m so laid back I even napped through much of the hospital expansion construction back in 2002. Really, Moe, hospital life is much better than it’s cracked up to be. Thanks for asking.
Best regards,
Business
